Questions & Answers

Smart Cities, roads, 5G backhaul are all about connectivity.

ACiiST provides the best connectivity for smart roads and streets of the future.

Our weatherproof switch converts ordinary lamp posts into Smart hubs. Positioned on streets and highways, our tech offers multi-gig, reliable, 24/7 power and connectivity.

The hardest problem today for Smart infrastructure is the connection between sensors and actuators to the computing resource. Due to the swift ability of ACiiST’s connectivity, this solution is so significant for the future of Smart transportation and roads.

ACiiST is the only Tech company available for mass-scale implementation on existing infrastructure. As winners of the Innovation Competition in Israel, ACiiST was recognized as a “Technology Enabler” by the success of the Ayalon Highway project. Our true and reliable solution is suitable for information-intensive applications or critical information transfers.

ACiiST is combined of two features; a weatherproof distributed switch installed within street poles supporting Smart City applications and a robust, serverless software managing many small, interconnected switches using just 10% of the wiring of alternative technologies.

Together, these create a fully accessible outdoor LAN.

A communication pole mounted into any landscape containing the Polarity II switch with six POE ports connecting standard edge devices and three ports for a backbone mesh network.

The unit comes with a built-in connectivity compartment and a waterproof lid with opening detection, digital I/O ports and a Smart light control controller suitable for all types of lighting, including dry contact for old lighting fixtures and 0-10V + Dali port for newer LED drivers.

ACiiST converts existing streetlight systems into an Urban IoT infrastructure enabling the simple installation of cameras, WiFi, sensors, and other IoT devices with high-performing networks everywhere without the disruption and costs typical to alternatives. ACiiST’s solution converts aging electric infrastructure into a state-of-the-art IoT network, optimizing the use of existing assets and saving valuable time, funds, and disruption.

Our network solution (MetropoLAN) incorporates the black communication links with a high degree of reliability. We achieve this via redundancy (like multi-ring) and the removal of the dependency of central network control.

This technology requires an average of 10% cabling compared to any traditional technology and provides a higher level of redundancy and reliability, dramatically reducing the costs of network deployment and maintenance. The system is designed with symmetrically distributed architecture, eliminating any single-point-of-failure components and maintaining a resistant network. As redundancy is an inherent feature of the network, broken cable events do not cause a service outage; the event is reported to the network manager and can be fixed at a time that does not impact service.

ACiiST’s infrastructure is a beneficial long-term investment, as its network can be used to improve signaling, real-time data collection and information, congestion monitoring, and is flexible to addition of future technologies.

ACiiST solves a consistent problem across streets and highways; connectivity. Our tech connects millions of devices across any street or highway.

While alternatives require trenching and the construction of communication cabinets, ACiiST doesn’t need either. With no trenching, impact to city roads and sidewalks, or the need for new structure, ACiiST saves you money (up to 90%), time, and most importantly, prevents interruption to daily city life.

With one device hosting a number of services, communication is heightened to increase the speed of automation and installation. In turn, ACiiST decreases disruption with a competitive cost.

Due to our quick installation methods and minimal need for resources, ACiiST offers system integrators faster processes that could bypass approvals, offer lower prices and in turn, increase revenue. These benefits place system integrators in a competitive light with the ability to automate, maintain and install more IoT devices than ever before.

P&L companies have the permit of use and control over the most important asset of Smart Cities: Lamp-posts.

ACiiST allows these companies to convert their lamp posts into an Urban IOT assets; providing a plethora of services and data. These services can be used as service offerings or as competitive advantage.

Not at all, in fact, 5G will likely be the heaviest user of ACiiST’s technology!

The second wave of 5G is aiming at 1M IoT devices per SKM. To successfully achieve this, operators will need to deploy picocells over 100 feet in the inhabited world! Without ACiiST, individual fibers would need to run to every post (non-practical in most places and too expensive in others) or use unreliable, sensitive vegetation mmW meshes.

ACiiST is the most efficient and safest solution for these networks.

Many operators are watching their current revenue base decreasing, while noticing Smart City and transportation expose themselves as the new generators of business. Inevitably, they will need to provide high-performance, generic connectivity everywhere.

ACiiST will be the most efficient solution to save large operators 90% of deployment costs without the need for novel infrastructure. The need to approve cycles will be dramatically reduced and overall, reduce entry barriers.

ACiiST MetropoLAN solution is a distributed system running on the deployed Polarity nodes. The control system may run either on a cloud (public or private) or a stand-alone system – all determined by the customer.

ACiiST is currently working with Mer Group (SI) and the Ashdod port in Israel. Currently, there are active projects within the cities of:

Rishon LeZion, Haifa, Kfar Saba, Herzliya, Jerusalem and Holon
